Rachael and Matthew get a special, "we've-been-up-all-night-to-get-this-done" blog post as we photographed their wedding yesterday and fly out to Singapore today.

It's always so lovely to see a genuinely happy and joyful bride - Rachael didn't stop smiling all day. And we can see where she gets it from...her grandparents, who honeymooned at Caves House over 60 years ago, were just as joyful!

Singapore Sessions!

Our next trip to Singapore for private portrait commissions is very close and sessions are filling up fast!

If I had my child to raise over again

This poem sits right next to my computer screen and I look at it every day.

When life gets chaotic, when there aren't enough hours in the day, when my work/kids balance gets out of whack - I read this poem, take a deep breath, and try to get my priorities straight again.

If I had my child to raise over again,

I'd finger paint more, and point the finger less.

I'd do less correcting, and more connecting.

I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.

I would care to know less, and know to care more.

I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.

I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.

I'd run through more fields, and gaze at more stars.

I'd do more hugging, and less tugging.

I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.

I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.

I'd teach less about the love of power,

And more about the power of love.
